NVCI’s fiscal sponsorship program allows donors to make tax-deductible contributions to smaller groups in North Dakota who do not have their own tax-exempt status.  Fiscally sponsored groups are then responsible for reporting to NVCI on the use of those contributions.

NVCI employs the pre-approved grant relationship model for fiscal sponsorship. Under this arrangement, the fiscally sponsored organization remains a separate legal entity and does not become a program belonging to NVCI. Instead, NVCI chooses to further its exempt purposes indirectly, by assisting in the movement of financial support from funders and individuals to an organization for a specific project that NVCI believes will advance its own charitable mission.
